Introduction to LANs and WANs
In the early days of computing we used cables to connect computer in the same room or building together, as things progressed we used cables to connect computers in different buildings together and not that network of connections have expanded and protocols have been formed to create the internet. Activity: Your teacher will illustrate this on the board, or you can watch this video.
The Internet is a global network of millions of computers connected together.
The World Wide Web refers to all the webpages / Information on the the internet that we can locate and browse. We normally use a web browser such as Google Chrome to view web pages. Hypertext markup Language HTML is used in the design of webpages to allow compatible communication between computers to allow computers to correctly display webpages through web browsers.
Task: Try this code in Notepad:

<body>
<h1>Hello world</h1>
<p>This is my first HTML coded webpage</p>
</body>
</html>
When you have entered the HTML code from above; click File > Save As > Give the file a name > then after the . change the file extension to htm ( Example: mywebsite.htm). Locate the file you saved and double click on it to check out how it looks in your web browser.
