Task summaryWhat you will learn:
You will learn about the basics of Scratch and how to make things happen. How you will be assessed: During these initial lessons using Scratch you will learn how to use Scratch to move sprites around and make things happen. These skills will then be used to create your e-safety message. |
Key terminologyStage: This is where the action takes place, sprites move, things appear and fly around, whatever you want to happen can happen here
Sprite: This is something that appears on the stage. It may move around, stay still or be controlled. Some sprites are animals, some are fruits, they are any items or characters that you want to use. Command blocks: These are coloured instructions that control sprites in your project. They clip together like lego bricks to make things happen. |
Activities

Changing level/backgroundThis video tutorial will show you how to change levels, as your sprite moves across the screen they may move into different rooms. This will allow your sprites to appear as though they are walking through doors or through outside areas.
|
Making things happenThis video tutorial will show you how to make things happen when two sprites hit each. This can help you control your sprites and make them talk to each other.
